Passing the time
One of the most challenging things about being locked up is figuring out what to do to pass the time. Fortunately, Sutter County Jail has more activities available to inmates than a lot of other facilities. The inmates can watch TV, play cards and other games, and church services are offered on a regular basis.

Inmates generally get the chance to go outside in the rec yard 1 or 2 times per week for a total of 3 to 6 hours. The yard has basketball hoops, volleyball and handball facilities, as well as dip and pull up bars. Inmates say that if you want to stay in shape while you are serving your time in this jail, it is definitely possible to do so.

Food
The food served in this jail is rated at about 6 out of 10. Inmates receive three meals per day. One of the favorite meals among inmates is when a real, recognizable piece of meat is served. If you want between meal snacks, you need to have money on your books to buy items from commissary.

Gangs
There are many gangs in the jails and prisons of California. Former inmates of Sutter County advise that it is best to stay as far away as possible from any involvement with these gangs. Getting involved with a gang while you are in jail can get you into a lot of trouble, in addition to putting your life at risk.
